Jenny originally joined the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues as a as Development Officer, working on community engagement and school-based projects such as My Character, Thank You Film Awards, Jubilee Awards for Service, Community Day and Gratitude Day.  She now works as a Research Fellow on the Character and Values in Marginalised Young People project and the Schools of Virtue project.


1st Class BA Hons Creative Writing and English


Jenny has worked in the voluntary sector for most of her career, managing projects working with young people, schools and communities.  She previously worked for the charity Volunteering Matters, managing their volunteering in schools programmes and projects which help develop leadership skills and community awareness in young people. She is also the co-founder of Hanna’s Orphanage, a UK charity set up to support the maintenance and expansion of Hanna Orphans’ Home in Ethiopia, and worked for the NGO LEAP in Ethiopia, developing a personal and social curriculum for a school in rural Lalibela. Jenny is currently completing an MRes in African Studies, focusing on Ethiopian young people’s conception of poverty and wealth.
