About

Geoff is PGCE tutor for Secondary Religious Education. After sixteen years of school teaching, Geoff joined the staff at the Regional Religious Education Centre (Midlands) and subsequently became its Director. He has wide experience of providing Continuous Professional Development for serving Religious Education teachers as well as Initial Teacher Education. His PhD was entitled ‘A religious approach to religious education: the implications of John Hick’s interpretation of religion for religious education’.

Teaching

Geoff is responsible for the Religious Education Secondary PGCE course, which involves course administration, assessment and teaching, supervision of school placements and the training of mentors.

Geoff's research interests are:

  • The philosophy and pedagogy of religious education
  • Interfaith issues in education
  • Initial Teacher Education
