Biography

Tom has has researched and taught international development for 25 years, with short breaks where has worked as Director of the Child Rights Information Network (CRIN) based at Save the Children UK, as a consultant to an on-line science and development magazine (scidev.net), and as a researcher in the Governance and Social Developmet. Tom is a specialist in development theory, governance and the politics of development, science and technology policy, and child rights and rights-based programming.  Having worked for the Open University for a number of years, he also has considerable familiarity with the delivery of distance learning.  He is also IDD's Director of Teaching (distance learning); and convenes several modules on campus and for the distance learning programme.
