About

Eoin is a Research Associate in the Health Economics Unit. He joined the Unit in October 2012, having completed his MSc in health economics at University College Cork, Ireland.

He has a particular interest in the area of economic evaluations in health care.

Biography

Eoin completed his MSc in health economics at University College Cork, Ireland in September 2012. His MSc thesis involved an examination of the factors influencing the utilisation of GP services among the 70+ population in Ireland, before and after the extension of free GP care under the General Medical Services Scheme to the elderly population in 2001.

In October 2012, Eoin joined the Health Economics Unit at the University of Birmingham as a Research Associate. He is currently working on projects related to the Unit’s two main methodological themes of health modelling research and capabilities and health outcomes research.

Research

Eoin is currently working on a project which involves a systematic review and cost-effectiveness analysis of platelet function testing for aspirin resistance in patients with established cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease.
