Eloise is an experienced mental health nurse with an interest in mental health promotion and Solution Focused Therapy.

Eloise teaches on a variety of topics relating to mental health and mental health nursing. A dynamic educator using a range of teaching methods including creative art and story-telling.

Eloise also acts as Reasonable Adjustments Coordinator, ensuring Nursing students with learning needs can access appropriate support, including reasonable adjustments, throughout the programme.

Having qualified as a mental health nurse in 1997, Eloise worked primarily in inner city Birmingham within a variety of clinical areas including adult inpatient care and a large community team providing home treatment and assertive outreach elements of care. Eloise continued to develop her interest in talking treatments and training by moving to a primary care mental health team enjoying a remit of practice that included brief psychodynamic work, solution focused interventions, mental health promotion and staff training. 

Having always enjoyed teaching within the clinical area, Eloise took the opportunity to teach mental health nursing students in the HE environment at University of Birmingham through a secondment opportunity during 2004-2005. From 2006 Eloise has been a Teaching Fellow on the BNurs programme and has enjoyed the challenge of finding innovative methods to engage students and enhance the learning experience.
