About

Helen Callaghan is a Clinical Tutor in Physiotherapy and an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Helen has a specialist interest and background in the assessment and treatment of spinal disorders. 

Helen has an interest in Work related Health issues and uses this to collaborate with colleagues on ergonomic studies and factors affecting healthcare students in practice settings.

Biography

Helen Callaghan qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Keele in 1994. She went on to specialise in spinal disorders at the RJ & AH Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen Shropshire until 2000. Thereafter she worked in Private Practice and as a Spinal Therapy Specialist for staff of an NHS Trust. She went on to join the University of Birmingham in 2005 and trained in learning & teaching related to practice education. She holds administrative and teaching roles at the University related to Practice Education and Admissions on both the undergraduate BSc and Pre Reg MSc programmes.
