Liz Cohen qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Brunel University College in 1995. She worked in the NHS and privately for 9 years before embarking on a more academic career as a Clinical Tutor in 2004. She completed her MSc Advancing Practice Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation at the University of Birmingham in March 2009. Her dissertation explored the use of the Nintendo Wii Fit for balance rehabilitation in Stroke.
Liz Cohen qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Brunel University College in 1995. Following registration with the Health Professions Council (formerly CPSM) she became a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and embarked on a clinical career. She worked initially as a basic grade physiotherapist at West Suffolk Hospital following a general rotational post then relocated to the West Midlands in 1998. Liz specialised in Neurological Rehabilitation at Walsgrave Hospital, Coventry and Warwick Hospital until in 2004 she took a Clinical Tutor role at the University of Birmingham.
Since working at the University Liz has completed her MSc Advancing Practice (Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation) in 2009 and has completed a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education.
Liz has a particular interest in Neurology and balance and in developing Practice Placement support and education.
