TEACHING PROGRAMMES
Physiotherapy BSc
Andrew primarily teaches on the BSc physiotherapy course. He is the module leader for two modules and has teaching requirements on other modules:
Module Leads
1. Patient Centred Practice 2 – Teaching elements of communication, adjustment, hope to level 1 physiotherapy students.
2. Dissertation Module – Undertaking a co-ordinators role for the module, providing support for equipment use and statistical support as well as qualitative data analysis support to level 3 physiotherapy students.
Other modules
1. Neurological Practice – Considering the importance of illness narratives for physiotherapists
2. Research 2 – assisting with the teaching of the module.
RESEARCH THEMES
Clinical Trials, Health Services Research, Mental Health
Andrew's research interests are currently split in three areas:
1. Considering hope and adjustment in neurological patients
2. Considering the benefits of physical activity on individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems.
3. Undertaking a pilot randomised control trial into the effects of spiritual healing on individuals with irritable bowel syndrome.
