Shortly after starting at the NIHR HSC, he undertook a part time Master’s course in public health and graduated again in 2008. He was promoted in 2009 to a senior analyst which saw his role develop from predominantly writing technical reports for the Department of Health and National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), to focussing on leading the drugs sub team, leading engagement with the pharmaceutical industry and developing new IT systems, both locally and nationally.
