Dr Djakhongir Saidov joined Birmingham Law School in September 2004. Prior to joining Birmingham, Dr Saidov taught at the Norwich Law School, University of East Anglia. He also practiced law in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He received his LLB from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (Uzbekistan), LLM with distinction and PhD from the University of East Anglia.

Current doctoral supervision

Dr Saidov is currently supervising one doctoral student undertaking research in the following area:

• A legal analysis on piracy and armed robbery at sea in the Straits of Malacca: A Malaysian perspective

Dr Saidov’s research interests lie in international commercial law. His major recent projects include a monograph on The Law of Damages in International Sales and a contribution to the commentary on the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. He is currently working on a book on the Conformity of Goods and Documents under the Vienna Sales Convention.
