I am a tutor in Spanish for the Department of Modern Languages since September 2001. I previously worked for the Department of Development Administration in the School of Public Policy on a European Commission project and in European Marketing.

  • BA (Joint Honours) Spanish with French Studies; PGCE in Higher Education.
  • PG Certificates in Marketing and Principles of Law relating to Overseas Marketing and Trade.

I was born in Spain and I have lived in the UK since 1981. I have worked in Marketing and travelled around Europe. In 1993, I completed a BA (Joint Honours) in Spanish with French Studies at the University of Wolverhampton and a PGCE in Higher Education before joining the University of Birmingham.

I have also taught Spanish at the Universities of Aston, Buckingham and Wolverhampton. At the University of Wolverhampton I have been involved in various European Union projects teaching Spanish to UK Business leaders and medical staff.

Since 2001, I have taught Spanish to MOMD students and open access courses at the University of Birmingham, designing and delivering Spanish programmes and assessing students.

Other activities

I have worked as a translator and interpreter for the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, the University of Birmingham, UK and Spanish agencies and European companies.
