About

My main interests lie in metaphysics and philosophy of science. My current research concerns the metaphysical foundations of natural science. This means I am working on topics such as causation, laws, modality, natural kinds, probability and properties. I take causal powers to be fundamental features of the world and I hope that one day I will be able to account for all of the above notions in terms of powers.

Biography

I obtained my doctoral degree at Nottingham under the AHRC’s Metaphysics of Science Research Project (2006-2009). I have taught at Birmingham since 2010.
