About

Derrick Anderson has been Chief Executive at Lambeth Council since 2006 and was previously Chief Executive of the City of Wolverhampton Council. In 2003 he was awarded a CBE for services to local government. He has twenty-five years senior management experience in local government and more than thirty years within the public sector. He is a Committee Member of The Princes’ Trust London Council, the Skills Funding Agency Advisory Board, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) UK Committee, and Vice President of UK Youth. He has sat on a number of independent commissions and task forces including: Independent Commission on Youth Crime and Antisocial Behaviour; London Apprenticeship Task Force; and Central Council for Physical Recreation Facilities Inquiry. His past engagements include Non-Executive director on the Home Office Board; Board Member of Sport England – London; Secretary Black Country Local Authority Consortium 2000-04; Non-Executive Director of the 2012 Olympic Bid Company; and Chair of Sports England West Midlands 2004-06. He was selected as a Local Government Network UK representative for the South Africa/UK Shoulder to Shoulder Initiative.
