Professor Shoumitro Deb is a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist for adults with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). He has qualified from India and subsequently trained in Medicine and Psychiatry in University of Wales, UCL and Imperial College, London, UK. His clinical and research interests include epilepsy, mental health and psychopharmacology among adults with ID, Down’s syndrome and dementia, neuropsychiatric consequences of TBI, advanced neuroimaging (VBM, DTI, MRS) and functional MRI in relation to apathy syndrome seen in patients with stroke and TBI. He has also started research on neuroimaging and care pathway for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He is also involved in health services research.
