Born in Kilmarnock, I attended the University of Glasgow to read Chemistry, before jumping ship and studying an arts degree with the Open University. Towards the end of this degree I began volunteering in a small independent museum and got the idea that working with people and collections was something I’d like to do for a career.
I then completed a Masters Dissertation in Museum Studies with the University of Leicester and have spent the last 10 years working as a curator in a variety of museums and new museum projects including, most recently, the National Trust for Scotland’s new Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.
