Freshers Guarantee Scheme
The closing date for the UK and EU Undergraduate Fresher’s Guarantee Scheme applications is 31 May (the deadline for all other International students is 31 July).
The University guarantees a room in University or nominated bedspaces in third party accommodation to first year undergraduates subject to the following conditions:

You have applied through UCAS and have made Birmingham your firm choice of university.

You firmly accept the offer of a place from the University and ensure that your application for accommodation is received by our Accommodation Services department by 31 May 2013 for UK/EU students and 31 July 2013 for international students.

You confirm that you will be taking up your place and coming to Birmingham by 1 September 2013.

You are coming to the University on your own.

And you agree to spend your first year in University accommodation.
International Guarantee scheme
We guarantee a place in University accommodation to all international students who are new to Birmingham. This is because we understand the importance of securing suitable accommodation, particularly when you are getting used to an unfamiliar environment and meeting new people. This guarantee is subject to the following conditions:

You must have firmly accepted the offer of a place on a Birmingham programme of study

Your application for accommodation must be received by our Accommodation Services Office no later than 31 July 2013

You must be applying for accommodation for one person. The University also has a limited supply of accommodation for students wishing to bring their families to Birmingham. However, this cannot be provided on a guaranteed basis; please contact unimanagedaccom@contacts.bham.ac.uk for information.

You agree to remain in your University accommodation for the full term of your contract.
Applications received after the deadline
If you miss the deadline you are still welcome to apply for accommodation. However, you will not be guaranteed a place. All applications are treated on a first-come, first-served basis.
UK Postgraduates
Postgraduate students from the UK are not automatically guaranteed a place in University accommodation, but are welcome to apply.
Allocation of Accommodation
All accommodation is offered on the basis of date of application with some students applying as early as October in the previous academic year. Some accommodation is enevitably more polpular than others, therefore your first choice of accommodation cannot always be guranteed.
