If so, then a University of Birmingham Insight Lecture is just what you are looking for. These take place in host schools/colleges outside of the West Midlands and surrounding area.
Lecture content
The lectures are designed to stimulate enquiry and broaden knowledge of the subject area covered. Some relate closely to the A Level curriculum, others are broader and introduce new topics in higher education study. Many areas covered will be topical, allowing the student to easily connect with the subject matter, and at the forefront of research, giving the student up-to-date perspectives on the subject.
Examples of lectures are listed below but it is possible to cover other subjects:

What is involved?
The lectures are delivered by academic lecturers or postgraduate researchers from the University of Birmingham. A typical lecture programme lasts between 1-2 hour, however it may be possible to organise different timings if required.
Lectures are hosted by a school or college and other schools / colleges in the local area will be invited to send students along. Lectures are free of charge although a cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations received within 2 weeks of the lecture.
