School and college visits to the University

Student advisors

Each year we are visited by school and college groups who want to give students an insight into University life. 

These days are great at ‘de-mystifying’ university and give students a real hands-on experience as they sit in a lecture theatre and tour the campus. It is possible to arrange visits to the University for schools and college students of all ages and programmes could include such activities as

  • Campus tours
  • Workshops
  • Meeting current students
  • Talks on any of the following topics:

    -  Year 12 Induction: How to make the most of Year 12

    -  The benefits of going to university

    -  Choosing courses and university

    -  UCAS procedures

    -  Tips for personal statements

    -  Higher education finances and tips for budgeting

    -  Student life - with input from a current Birmingham student

    - University of Birmingham and our courses
