This programme is a research degree that includes taught components. It may be followed as an end in itself, but also provides an excellent foundation for subsequent doctoral research.
The MRes comprises four components; a compulsory Research Methodology module, two optional modules|, and a 20,000-word thesis.

For your two optional modules you may choose from any of the other M-Level modules offered on the MA in Evangelical and Charismatic Studies or from the other M-level modules offered within the School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion or, where appropriate, from other Schools in the College of Arts and Law.

Why study this course
This MRes forms part of the University’s Centre for Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies, which is one of the largest and most prominent research centres for Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies in the world and our work has received international recognition and acclaim. As a postgraduate in this field at Birmingham, you’ll have access to unique and extensive documentation in the internationally acclaimed Harold Turner Collection, with over 27,000 documents on the subject of New Religious Movements, African Initiated Churches, Pentecostal and analogous movements worldwide.

We charge an annual fee. Fees for 2013/14 are currently as follows:
