Programme overview

The Diploma, and linked PQ (Higher Specialist) in Leadership and Management for Social Work and PQ in Leadership and Management, offered at Postgraduate (M) level, reflects eight standalone 20-credit modules, which can be combined to form the Post-Qualifying Award through four core modules and a selection of two choice modules.

Each focuses on differing aspects of management practice. However, each module also connects with all the other modules in reflecting the key management functions and occupational requirements for excellence in management.

These modules, which are academically accredited in their own right, are available to staff from varied disciplines and professional settings.

Candidates for the PQ award undertake six modules, comprising four core modules and a choice of two modules from a possible four. The resulting six-module sequence will form a 120 Credit Postgraduate (M level) Diploma in Leadership and Management for Social Work – comprising the PQ Leadership and Management at Higher Specialist Level.

Candidates completing three modules, one of which includes Managing Diversity, can receive an interim award of Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Management for Social Work.
