The University constantly monitors and improves the standards of its teaching.
All of our teaching naturally benefits from, and is informed by, the fact that we are a large, research-led institution. We are currently exploring new teaching facilities and developments in order to ensure that the teaching across the University is of a consistently high quality.
Central to our learning culture across all our disciplines at Birmingham is enquiry-based learning. This approach is intended to challenge and engage our students throughout their distinctive educational experience at the University.
Enquiry-based learning enables postgraduate taught students to take progressively greater control of their own learning as they pursue their degree programmes. Moreover, it encourages students to acquire essential skills, which are highly valued in an increasingly competitive employment market.
