Development Economics MSc

Summary

The MSc. in Development Economics is one of the Department's newer taught MSc. programme. It reflects the Department's growing strength in both theoretical and applied policy areas, particularly as they relate developing countries. Through the delivery of specialised courses in development theory, development policy and econometrics students are provided with the analytic and technical training necessary to examine various issues pertaining to economic development in both developed and developing countries. The skills acquired through this program can be utilised in the private and public sectors, as well as international institutions. Additionally, the programme provides appropriate training for doctoral research.

Entry requirements

A good Honours first degree (or overseas equivalent) in Economics or a related discipline. You are expected to have received a good training in economics, to at least intermediate level, and to have a basic knowledge of calculus and statistics.
