EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing

Summary

Module Overview

EMDR is an evidence-based psychological treatment that has been recommended in the NICE guidelines (2005) as one of the treatments of choice for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. EMDR is a complex intervention which integrates many successful elements of a range of psychological treatment approaches. Although it is a modern treatment with proven effectiveness there is increasing evidence of its potential utilisation with a wide range of psychological problems. This university-based EMDR training is targeted towards experienced mental health workers so as to enable practitioners to effectively incorporate their practice of EMDR within their existing psychotherapeutic modalities to a defined standard as set by both EMDR Europe and the EMDR International Association. This double module therefore encompasses the present EMDR Institute and EMDR Europe approved trainings Parts 1, 2 & 3/levels 1 & 2.
