The module aims to examine current issues in health and health care identified by you as meeting your learning needs with regard to current challenges to health, the organisation of health services or in professional practice including, for example: Changes in the health of society; Changes within the NHS; Partnerships in health care; Supporting the evidence base of practice; Developments in professional practice.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module you should be able to:

Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of current issues confronting the health of modern society

Critically reflect upon the impact of new initiatives upon health and health care practice within the student’s own area of practice / area of interest

Critically analyse the effects of new initiatives or policies in health care on the student's area of practice / area of interest

Develop a theoretical exploration and critical awareness of the issues underpinning health in society or health care delivery through the review and evaluation of information from a wide range of policy documents and professional and academic journals

Assessment
Assessment of this module will take place through a 3000 word essay (100%)
Students will be given opportunity to present their work for peer review before submission in classroom presentation of seminars
