This course helps you to improve your English before you begin your Birmingham Foundation Academy programme, and will allow you to satisfy English language entry requirements without retaking IELTS or TOEFL.
English and Academic Skills presessional course
This course helps you to improve your English before you begin your programme of study at the University of Birmigham, and will allow you to satisfy English language entry requirements without retaking IELTS or TOEFL. It is open to you whether you are thinking about studying here or already have an offer.
This programme requires an IELTS entry level of 4.0. The length of the course will depend on the level of IELTS you have at entry and the IELTS requirement for your degree course.
Presessional English for postgraduate study
Business Management English presessional course
This course is for international students with a conditional offer to study a GDBA, MSc, MPhil or PhD in the Birmingham Business School. It allows you to satisfy the English language requirements for your course without retaking IELTS or TOEFL.
You will need an entry level IELTS of 5.0-6.0 depending on the IELTS requirements for your programme of study.
English for Academic Purposes presessional course
This course is for international students with a conditional offer to study any postgraduate course at the University of Birmingham. It allows you to satisfy the English language requirements for your course without retaking IELTS or TOEFL.
You will need an entry level IELTS of 5.0-6.0 depending on the IELTS requirements for your programme of study.
English and Academic Skills presessional course
If you do not have the IELTS requirements for the two courses above, you may be able to take our longer English and Academic Skills presessional course, which has start dates in the autumn, spring and summer. The EAS course runs intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced-level courses, and allows you to satisfy the English language requirements for your course without retaking IELTS or TOEFL.
The EAS course is suitable for:
