Supporting documents

My teacher is no longer at my school. Who can provide me with a reference instead?

If you are currently studying, or have left recently, your referee should be a tutor from your school or college who can comment on your ability to succeed on the course. If your teacher has left, try speaking to your school or college to see whether there is another member of staff that can help you and discuss making your application through them. A family member or friend cannot act as your referee.

Where should I send my supporting documents and will you confirm you have received them?

You should send any supporting documents to: Admissions, Aston Webb Building, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT – or you can email them to ugadmissions@contacts.bham.ac.uk. You will receive an acknowledgement of their safe arrival. Do not send supporting documents to UCAS.

Will you accept scanned copies of documents?

Your documents must be originals or certified copies of the originals.

My supporting documents are not in English. Do I need to provide translated documents and who should translate them?

All documents must be in English or have a certified translation. For help with translating them, go to an organisation such as the British Council, your institution or a University of Birmingham overseas representative in your country. See details of our overseas representatives.
