This module provides an overview of the main theoretical perspectives on British politics and applies these perspectives to an analysis of governing strategies from the nineteenth century to present day.
The second semester critically applies a range of theories to the study of the main institutions and process of the British Polity and assesses a range of contemporary challenges to the way in which Britain is governed.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the module the student should be able to demonstrate a solid factual grounding in the subject, and an ability to think analytically about this empirical material.
