At Birmingham we ensure that fears about finance do not constrain prospective students from considering university and that excellence is rewarded. The University offers a range of additional financial support for students studying at Birmingham in the form of bursaries, grants and scholarships.
Chamberlain Award
If your household income is below £36,000 you will be entitled to additional financial support from the University in the form of a Chamberlain Award.
Music Scholarships
In recognition of the role that music plays within the University, we are offering 30 Music Scholarships in 2013. Worth £1,000 per year, these scholarships are open to prospective students who have achieved grade 8 standard in an instrument or vocals and have an offer of a place on a full-time undergraduate programme (other than a programme offered by the Music Department) at the University of Birmingham, starting in September 2013.
Sports scholarships
The University is rated amongst the very best in the country for sport and this status is reflected in the wide range of sport scholarships that we offer. Our flagship scheme, called the UBsport scholarships, offers awards from £3,500 up to £6,000 separated into bronze, silver and gold categories according to the level at which you are competing.
We have also recently introduced 20 new Sport Performance Awards, which are available to undergraduates entering the University in September 2013 who have competed at country level or above within their sport. The awards offer £1,000 in services for the 3 years of study, dependant on upholding a minimum of 2:1 academic progression.
Subject-based scholarships
Depending on the subject you have chosen to study, there may be additional scholarships available to you that are administered by your School. These scholarships are offered in addition to the National Scholarship and the Chamberlain Award.
