Module description
This module delivers a broad understanding of various approaches to managing the environment and human impacts on the environment. It covers theoretical fundamentals including sustainable development and discourses of nature; looks at the practice of management through the planning system, policy making, environmental impact assessment and other tools; and considers how to incorporate ethics and values and public knowledge into decision-making processes about the environment. Throughout the course issues are explored with reference to diverse case studies.
