Module description

If you wrote a literature review in semester 1 this module allows you to develop the critical analysis you began there. In writing your semester 1 literature review you will have formulated some questions and accessed a range of literature that you will have had to critically assess and priorities. In this exercise you will outline how you went about this process focusing on the analysis and critical appraisal of the 5 key of papers relevant to the questions addressed in the semester 1 literature review. During this critical analysis of the key papers you will be able to identify gaps in the scientific knowledge and write a a research proposal designed to address these because modern science requires a range of ways that you have to communicate your science, for example because it is increasingly important to justify research to the public and funding bodies, the proposal will include a series of summaries targeted at both the expert and lay audiences.
