Module description
This module is the first to be studied on the Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies programme and introduced students to the key aspects of the legal system and approaches to the study of law. Sources of law Basic legal research techniques The doctrine of precedent and the analysis of legal rules from cases Techniques of statutory interpretation The court system of England and Wales These points are consolidated and studied in more depth in other modules throughout the programme.
