This study option introduces the central concepts behind dramaturgy, including literary management, production dramaturgy, and new play development. The final class project is a production casebook for a show that the dramaturg would theoretically work on along with a reflective essay on the process. Students who take this second year study option can continue on with dramaturgy by working as a production dramaturg via an independent study.
