Following the preparatory work in ' Dissertation Preparation' at Level I, students produce an independent 5000-word dissertation on a literary topic determined in consultation with their supervisor. A one hour, large-group lecture will advise students on dissertation methods and skills. 2x 30 minute individual supervisions will be provided, normally in weeks 2 and 8 of semester. The final supervision can be used to discuss a draft of no more than 1000 words of the dissertation. Three group master-classes (normally in weeks 5, 8 and 11) will also support the student’s research.
