Module description

This course will provide students with an introduction to British literature from 1790 until the present [Semester 1 will just cover 1790-1900]. It will develop students' understanding of different critical and theoretical approaches to the analysis of literature. The texts studied may vary from year to year, but will include a selection of poetry, fiction and drama. The texts will be studied in relation to their social, political and literary contexts.
