Module description
The lectures for this module provide an introduction to project methodologies, investigative and analytical procedures, and initial stages of publication preparation. In the second part of the module you will undertake three weeks of practical experience in primary data gathering and processing, normally on an archaeological excavation. At this level you will be expected to show a critical approach to evaluating archaeological methods and results, individual initiative, and a responsible role in teamwork. (Equivalent training and responsibility in the laboratory will be substituted for students with special needs for whom fieldwork is inappropriate).
