Forensic anthropology is the study of human remains in a legal context. Using cases studies and published material students will cover the full range of issues relating to forensic anthropology in Britain and at an international level. Areas covered will include; identification of human bone, determining numbers of individuals represented by remains, determination of ancestry, sex, age, and other identifying data, obtaining information on trauma (sharp, blunt and projectile). In addition, the recovery of human remains from different contexts and issues relating to taphonomy will also be considered.
