Cultural Content
You will continue to extend your knowledge of Hispanic cultures with additional focus upon Spain. Authentic documents taken from the Spanish media with some background material in English will be used to support the text book.

Daily life: work and leisure time
Leisure: eating out, fashion, cinema, theatre
Media: newspapers, television
Customs and celebrations: Spain a land of contrast.
By the end of the module you should be able to:
deal with a limited number of unpredictable activities in listening, speaking, reading and writing
show understanding of spoken language in varied contexts
extract and apply information from a range of written sources
elicit and convey orally information in prepared and unprepared situations
obtain and communicate information in writing
display knowledge of cultural contexts and conventions appropriate to language use at this level.
Practical language classes involving both whole-group and small group/pair work activities, with emphasis on communicative settings, use of visual aids and audio/video recording and the Internet. Language laboratories may be used where appropriate
