Module description

This module aims to further develop and extend listening, reading, speaking and writing skills acquired at Intermediate French I & II. More emphasis will be put on development of learning strategies and debating skills. Students will learn to cope with a variety of less predictable real-life situations. Authentic materials will be used to improve and to provide stimulus for the development of both productive skills (speaking and writing) and receptive skills (reading and listening). By the end of the module, the majority of participants will have reached B1 (Common European Framework) in most skills.

Teaching and learning methods

Practical language classes involving both whole-group and small group/pair work activities. Students’ active participation is fostered via the use of visual aids, audio/video recordings and the Internet. 3 contact hours a week.
