Module description

This module aims to extend receptive and productive skills developed at Advanced French I & II. More sophisticated learning strategies and study methods will be developed to increase independent learning. Students will be exposed to a variety of different types of spoken and written texts. They will increase their awareness and use of different registers. Substantial authentic video and audio material will be used as well as newspaper articles and the Internet in order to enhance students' knowledge of modern France. By the end of the module, the majority of participants will have reached B2 (Common European Framework) in all skills.

Teaching and learning methods

Practical language classes involving both whole-group and small group/pair work activities. Students’ active participation is fostered via the use of visual aids, audio/video recordings and the Internet. 3 contact hours a week.
