This module comprises a series of introductory lectures relating to prose fiction, drama, poetry and film (critical terminology, issues of structure and narrative form, French versification, dramatic structure, theatrical context, film terminology) and the close analysis of a diverse set of individual texts from the seventeenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
