Module description

After a brief introduction to the discovery, colonisation and independence of Latin America, the Spanish American strand considers the issues of race and ethnicity, and then moves on to examine the origins and impact of the Mexican Revolution. The Spanish peninsular strand examines the origins of the Spanish Civil War, the impact of the Franco regime, the transition to democracy after 1975, and Spain in the 1980's and 1990's.
