The classes serve to re-enforce acquisition of grammatical structures and vocabulary, and to introduce the students to material that is particular to aural and oral contexts. Familiarity with the written language is fostered by means of grammatical exercises, comprehension exercises, brief translations to and from the target language, and producing short texts. Oral performance is consolidated by asking and answering questions, practicing listening comprehension, conducting interviews, role plays, giving short presentations, under the guidance of a native Portuguese speaker.
