Module description

The course aims to consolidate and build upon language skills acquired in the beginners course.

The three weekly hours are distributed between grammar/vocabulary, translation from and into Portuguese and oral/aural work in small groups. Coursework will consist of translations, grammar and comprehension exercises as required. Students will revise grammatical, syntactical and lexical aspects and will examine different registers of Portuguese in formal and informal texts.
The sessions will also cover topics of the culture and civilization of the Portuguese-speaking world, through readings, music and film in written and spoken registers of European and Brazilian Portuguese.
