This module will examine the place of risk taking in young people's lives. The positive and development aspects will be explored alongside the destructive and dysfunctional elements.
Contents:
Attachment theory is used as a theoretical framework to relate risk taking behaviour to adolescent transitions. Working with young people in relation to crime, drug taking, homelessness, eating disorders and sexuality sets the context for developing an understanding of risk taking behaviour and exploring intervention strategies. Topics inlcuded are:
