Module description

Action research is change orientated, its origin lies in a problem, or dilemma, or challenge being experienced in the workplace or community and the need to do something about it to resolve it. The dissertation introduces students to the action research cycle and the issues involved in applying action research methodology. Contents:

  • Action research as a methodological process of inquiry and CPY practice
  • Community based action research project management
  • The application of action research principles and practice
  • Critique of action research methodological process
  • Collecting and organising data
  • Analysis of data and writing up research
