This module explores the potential for Community, Play and Youth Workers to cross national boundaries and act globally. Content:

  • Local communities, global forces; the impact of globalisation, sustainable development
  • Similarities and differences between communities in an international context (case-studies)
  • The role of power and wealth inequalities in international contexts
  • The potential for working globally in Community, Play and Youth Work
  • The role of Development Education, and Global Youth Work
  • The potential for international exchanges and the skills/knowledge required to work in these contexts
