Module description

This module will provide an understanding of basic visual processes. It will develop student's skills of observation and visual analysis by means of a sequential programme of activities in drawing and painting in a range of media. It will go on to introduce students to a selected range of 2- and 3-dimensional media and processes, principally textiles and ceramics/3D, examining ways in which design ideas might be developed.

Students will develop the use of sketchbooks throughout the module to develop personal visual explorations in a range of media drawing on a range of visual stimuli such as collections, photography and experimentation with media. Emphasis will be placed on acquiring skills and developing working methods.
