Module description

This module aims to establish the nature of severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and introduce the provision and services that are currently available for both children and adults. This will be underpinned with discussion of different models of disability, historical perspectives and inclusive society. The module concludes with an examination of some of the practical aspects of observing, assessing and identifying needs and how these can be met through the use of planning cycles such as person-centred planning and individual educational planning.
