Module description

This module is designed to encourage participants to explore, in detail, two central and connected aspects of working with children and adults with learning difficulties: communication and behaviour that challenges. The first part of the module is focused on communication, its development and ways of teaching people with learning difficulties to communicate more effectively and teaching staff to interpret unconventional communication. The second part of the module is devoted to behaviour that is found challenging and the intention is to help students to understand this kind of behaviour and devise suitable interventions to improve the quality of life of the people involved.
