Module description

This Module will focus on identifying and assessing the needs of learners with visual impairment in Further Education and on planning and preparing teaching programmes for them.



It is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of vision and visual processing and the effects that visual impairment may have on learning. It examines issues involved in the identification and assessment of visual impairment and considers the broad implications of visual impairment for accessing the curriculum.




It explores inclusive strategies for planning, structuring and delivering support and introduces the principles of enhancing the participation of learners with visual impairment in the curriculum.
